Warranty Information for Rontan Products

Manufacturer’s Warranty Statement

Rontan North America, Inc. (the Manufacturer) warrants that its Products will be free from any defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service, wear and tear excepted, for a period of three years, beginning from the date of shipment from the factory. Distributor agrees to deliver the Manufacturer’s warranty then in effect to each of its customers at the time of sale. No one has any authority to bind Manufacturer to any warranty beyond that extended herein. Warranty extends to Distributor, or directly to end-users, and does not cover repair, labor or replacement of parts that are by nature expendable; halogen lamps, strobe tubes, domes and lenses.

Manufacturer will be responsible for the shipping of the repaired or replaced product to the Distributor, or end user. Manufacturer will not be responsible for any travel expense or labor charges for the removal or reinstallation of the product unless an authorized Manufacturer service center receives written authorization from Manufacturer. Title to such repaired or replaced Product shall pass to Distributor, or end user, at the shipping point. Distributor shall be responsible for delivering the repaired or replaced Product to the original purchaser.

This warranty shall not apply to goods that have been improperly installed or maintained or have been subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, or damage during and after installation, or to goods which have been modified, changed or re-worked in any way by an unauthorized service technician and/or without prior written approval of Manufacturer. Manufacturer's sole obligation herein is to repair or replace, at Manufacturer's option, any defective part or parts within the warranty period. Upon Manufacturer's written instructions, allegedly defective goods shall be returned to Manufacturer for inspection. If Manufacturer, at its sole discretion, concludes that the repair is not covered under warranty, Distributor or end user will be charged for the applicable replacement parts.

There are no other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to any other warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Manufacturer be liable for any loss of profits or any indirect or consequential damages arising out Manufacturer’s breach of this warranty or any other term or condition of this agreement.

Warranty Replacement Policy

Lightbars, light controllers, siren amplifier/control units and other fully assembled products shall be warranted for three (3) years parts and one (1) year labor. LED modules shall be warranted for five (5) years parts and one (1) year labor.

All Rontan lightbars will have the defective parts repaired or replaced. All other Rontan products will be repaired or product will be exchanged with a new replacement.

Consumable items, including but limited to, TD/AL halogen lamps, strobe tubes, domes and lenses, are not covered under warranty replacement by Rontan North America, but are available for purchase as replacement parts. (See Replacement Parts Policy for further information.)

The following steps will need to take place to acknowledge warranty coverage:

  1. Contact Technical Support for Rontan North America at 1-877-288-6875 to give description of the problem and troubleshoot the issue. Rontan will not be responsible for any charges incurred for the troubleshooting of the product unless an authorized Rontan Service Center receives special approval from Rontan North America.
  2. If basic troubleshooting does not resolve the problem:
  3. An RMA number will then be issued and you will be instructed to send in the product for further evaluation. The item will be repaired and returned. If the item cannot be repaired, we will issue a replacement under warranty coverage. Replacements are subject to product availability; substitutions may be issued at the discretion of Rontan North America.

If the products are mounted inside an emergency vehicle that is currently in use, and it is not feasible to send in for repairs, we may send replacement parts or products to be shipped to the desired location, under RMA terms as defined below*.

  1. All shipping will be standard ground via UPS. Overnight or other special shipping requests will be available, but will be charged to the customer.
  2. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number may be given for the defective parts or product to be shipped back to Rontan North America. *An RMA-Invoice for replacement parts or product will be issued at the customers’ standard price rate and marked as “Pending Status”. This bill will be credited and closed upon receipt of merchandise by Rontan North America before the due date and complying with RMA requirements. All items should be returned with adequate packing materials to insure they are not damaged in return shipment. All returns received will be inspected for tampering and must be in re-sellable condition, or your account will be charged for replacement items and/or parts.
  3. If the defective parts or product has not been received by Rontan North America within the time period specified, the RMA-Invoice will be marked as “Active Status” and the customer will be responsible for the total amount due, including all freight charges incurred.

Replacement Parts Policy

Due to the latest technological advances, we can no longer accept exchanges of products after they are sold and shipped. This applies to pod color changes and all product upgrades. This also includes, but is not limited to, takedown and alleylights, additional mounting kits and/or hardware, mounting feet sizes, adding or deleting LED pod modules, and controllers.

All returned products will be subject to a 15% re-stocking fee and responsible for all shipping costs involved. Only store credit will be issued - No cash refunds.

Effective May 1, 2009, all replacement parts that are not warranty related, must be purchased separately thru our Replacement Parts List of item #’s and prices.

Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Policy

All items being returned will require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number to be issued prior. Returns may not be accepted without prior consent from Rontan North America.

If an RMA number is needed for products ordered in error or if customer/distributor needs to return undamaged products, the customer/distributor will be responsible for all shipping costs incurred and a 15% restocking fee.

All returns must contain all of the original packaging and accessories, or your account will be charged for replacement items and/or parts.

Credit will be issued towards the customer/distributor’s account, at the sole discretion of Rontan North America. No cash refunds will be issued.
