Firehouse Visits

Now this is one of my favorite towns. First of all, the Assistant Chief came out to say hello and he was one of the most friendly guys you'd ever want to meet. A couple of the crew came out as well and we all talked briefely while they took some pictures. But one of the reasons this town has become one of my favorite is because it has a railroad museum in the old passenger station as well as and old CB&Q steam locomotive and some rolling stock there in town on display.

So now, here is this town with a great fire department and a rich railroad history with a steam locomotive in the center of town. For me, that's like the best it can get. Now I have to talk my wife into moving to Mendota.
